Come discover the friendly Chesapeake Bay Monster that sparked mass conservation efforts for our beloved Bay. This friendly sea monster was first reported in the 1930’s and has become one of the most famous folklore characters of our region.
In the 1980s the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service published a coloring book telling Chessie’s story. Join us Saturday and Sunday at the Museum to hear the story of Chessie and receive your own copy of Chessie’s coloring book
